Musical Autumn in Krakow

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Audience,

we feel delighted that for the ninth time we can, together with the Karol Szymanowski Krakow Philharmonic, invite you to participate in the Krakow Musical Autumn festival. This is due to the constant interest of listeners and the support of our idea by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the City of Krakow, we would like to thank both institutions for including the festival in the panorama of Polish and Krakow cultural life. The festival would not take place without the support of the ZAiKS Authors' Association and Riff-Bud company.

This year we offer you a series of five concerts. Our invitation to perform was accepted by Cracow Golden Quintet, Duo Fortecello, Włodzimierz Spodymek and Barbara Hortyńska, Volodja Balzalorsky and Aleksandar Serdar, as well as Meccore String Quartet. When planning the program of the ninth edition of the festival, we decided to present for the first time ensembles that had not been present at the festival so far. Therefore, this year you will be able to listen to a wind quintet and a saxophone duo with a piano. These ensembles will be presented in the context of the most famous chamber formations: string quartet and violin and cello duets with piano. There will also be premieres and new music pieces – for the first time, arrangements of Lutosławski and Szymanowski's works written especially for the Cracow Golden Quintet will be presented to the listeners; we will also hear the world premiere of a piece by Franciszek Araszkiewicz for cello and piano, commissioned and written as part of the National Institute of Music and Dance program "Composing Commissions”. The festival’s program also includes music by Wojciech Kilar, Karol Szymanowski, Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, Astor Piazzolla and Krzysztof Penderecki.

We hope that we will meet you at the Philharmonic and experience the most beautiful emotions together!

We are happy that you have been with us for nine years now!
